Drawing from 60’s/70’s psychedelia and laid-back indie rock, their music is characterized by its nostalgic tones and dreamy atmospheres, inviting listeners into a world where melodies sway gently like trees in the wind. As they continue to carve their path in the indie scene, One Car Garage prioritizes creating relatable music without taking themselves too seriously.

Livia Gazzolo is a Kurdish-American world music vocalist based in Chicago, IL who has spent the past few years exploring the connectivity of cultures through music. At this moment, she is most interested in cultivating a global perspective, illuminating her Kurdish roots and introducing audiences to the commonalities and differences among cultural traditions. Over the past decade, Livia has built an innovative musical repertoire that spans geography, epochs, language and musical genres. Her style pulls inspiration from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Blossom Dearies, Helen Merrill, and Elise Regina. With a combination of lilting vibrato, and middle eastern melisma, Livia intertwines original jazz melodies with Brazilian Tropicalia and Kurdish folk music to create a vibrant quilt of cultures in her upcoming single and EP releases.
